The state of Georgia is a recruiting hotbed for college coaches from all over the country. The Future Stars Game is preparing to release our state of Georgia top 100 players for the class of 2027.
We will preview each position group with possible players you could see in the final rankings. Today we preview the quarterbacks. Georgia has been a breeding ground for top quarterbacks in the country. Recent first round draft picks from Georgia at quarterback include Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields. Another NFL starter from Georgia is Davis Mills of the Houston Texans. Current elite high school quarterbacks from Georgia include Dylan Longeran (Alabama Commit), Prentiss Noland(Class of 24), Jake Merklinger(class of 24). Antwann Hill(class of 25) and Julian Lewis(#1 ranked player in class of 26). Lawrence, Mills, Longeran, Noland and Hill all participated in the Future Stars Game.
The class of 2027 looks to keep the quarterback tradition in Georgia going. We take a look at a few names that could possibly make the top 100 list for Georgia.
First look is JR Harris(pictured above) from Carrollton. Harris is an electric player that plays with an edge. His incredible athleticism and uncanny ability to avoid sacks allows for him to be an extremely dangerous quarterback once the play breaks down. He does not scramble to run the ball, he uses his athletic ability to buy time to find receivers down field. Harris is a Johnny Manziel type of athlete that makes smart decisions with the ball.
Hayes Maginnis from Newnan is a pocket passer with a very high football IQ and ability that has him as a player to watch and see how they develop through high school. As an elite baseball player, he has a very strong arm and is capable of making all of the throws on the field. He is definitely one to watch in the future and see if he will make the top 100 in Georgia.
Christopher Miller is an athletic pro-style QB with very strong arm. Miller has very good size for an 8th grader. He is accurate and throws the deep ball with ease. He has a quick release and is very comfortable in the pocket, living up to his "Smooth" nickname.
Ethan Tisdale from Heard County is a very smooth QB with very good mechanics, strong arm and great accuracy. He has good size and plays with command of the offense.
These are just some players our staff will evaluate for the top 100. Here are just some additional players we are evaluating, and you could see in the top 100. Zavion DeShazier - Mt. De Sales Academy Michael Kyles Jr. - Grayson Christion Peacock - North Cobb Elam Rahman - Suwanee Caden Worley - Ola
